June was born in 1925 and got her start in show business incredibly early, she’s a third-generation performer. The New York native made an appearance in A Christmas Carol with her parents in 1938. After this, she made an appearance on stage in a play, and from then on, there has been no looking back on her career.

Lockhart’s most iconic performances involved her playing a mother. She played the mother of Timmy Martin on the hit show Lassie. She did true justice to the role and earned critical acclaim due to it.

Lockhart, who grew up in California, once described the show as “a fairy tale about people on a farm in which the dog solves all the problems in 22 minutes, in time for the last commercial.”

Another one of her iconic performances came with her role as Dr. Maureen Robinson in Lost in Space, which was another hit show. She was the matriarchal figure on the show, who took care of not only the family’s nutritional needs but also the construction they needed in their travels.

Apart from that, Mumy had other kind words he wanted to say about the actress. “June is such an interesting character… She is, without a doubt, one of the smartest people I’ve ever met in my life. She is truly a rock & roll goddess. I swear to god. She lives for rock & roll,” Mumy said.
