A devastating shooting occurred early Sunday morning, June 1, at a house party in Mountain View, a quiet neighborhood near Hickory, North Carolina. One person was killed and eleven others were injured.

Authorities responded to the scene on Walnut Acres Drive around 12:45 a.m., according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. The pool party, attended by approximately 100 individuals, including minors, turned violent when multiple gunshots rang out.

The shooting took place outside, impacting both the front and back yards of the property. The incident also extended into a neighboring yard, resulting in a wide and active crime scene.

One victim has died, another remains in critical condition, and several others are still hospitalized. Authorities have confirmed that multiple weapons were involved, but no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
