Deep in the Colorado mountains, rescuers discovered an injured wild stallion standing near a young girl. Veterinarian Dr. Alden Cross and his team initially believed they were responding to a routine wildlife rescue. However, they soon realized the horse appeared to be protecting the child, Celina Martínez. The girl was alive but needed medical attention. The stallion remained calm and stayed close as rescuers helped her. The unusual encounter surprised the team and highlighted the fascinating and sometimes unexpected behavior of wild animals.
