More than 2,000 women are set to embrace their ‘full frontal freedom’ by stripping down for an annual naked ‘buns out’ lap around a Colorado ski resort in March
A Colorado ski resort is set to be inundated by naked women as thousands of them strip down for an annual nude lap in the chilly snow.
The annual “buns out” lap first started in 2021 when Jenny Verrochi, co-founder of the event, organised a “spontaneous” ski in the buff. Just 27 women participated in the first naked lap but the following year the event evolved into a full-blown ski festival.
Boot Tan Fest is now “the largest ski and snowboard festival on the planet for women and femmes,” according to its website. More than 200 people turned up for the 2022 festival, which resulted in the record for the biggest naked ski lap.
But this year the event is set to be bigger than ever as more than 2,000 women are anticipated to attend the 2024 festival, which takes place on March 29-30 at the Sunlight Mountain Resort in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Jenny, who’s also dubbed an “event enchantress”, previously told the Denver Post that the annual naked lap “is the best feeling”.
She said: “You feel supported because every body is different and every personality is different. But when you’re outside and you’re exposed like that and there’s no men around to judge you, it’s the most powerful feeling ever.”
But she claimed the ski festival isn’t just about getting naked. “It’s not a nudist event,” Jenny said as she noted no one is required to undress.
Instead, she claims it’s simply about creating an environment where women can feel empowered about their naked bodies. She added: “As women, we are taught shame is this huge aspect and we’re taught to cover our bodies, and sometimes you need permission. We’re giving everybody permission to just get naked and have fun.”
Boot Tan Fest won’t be completely taking over Sunlight Mountain for this year’s event. During the day anyone, including men, will be able to enjoy skiing and snowboarding at the resort.
