Sharon Stone loves dating apps but won’t go on Tinder and ‘f**k somebody’

Hollywood star Sharon Stone revealed that she has signed up for a number of dating sites including Tinder and Bumble, but insisted she would not use the apps for a quickie

Sharon Stone has revealed she’s been using dating apps in a bid to find a partner, but she’s not using them for meaningless sex.

Hollywood legend Sharon, 65, has been making her way back into the dating scene after a string of failed marriages. Her first time tying the knot was to producer Michael Greenburg, which last six years until the called time on their relationship in 1990.

Sharon’s second marriage to newspaper editor Phil Bronstein also lasted just six years, with the pair calling it quits in 2004. Since then, the actress has struggled to put herself back out on the market.
However, the Basic Instinct star has tried to get herself back on the saddle by downloading online dating apps including Bumble and Tinder. She’s already been on multiple first dates, but the ageless beauty hasn’t exactly had the best of luck with her potential suitors.

Chatting to The Times, Sharon admitted that on one first date she had arranged through one the apps, she met “a heroin addict who’s clearly 20,000 heroin injections later than the picture he sent me”. She promptly left the man at the table soon after arriving.

In total, Sharon has managed to have two relationships thanks to online dating. However, despite her best efforts, she continues to remain single.

She said she’s tried to present her true authentic self on her profiles – insisting: “it’s not like I can fake it”. But some dating apps were suspicious – she was blocked in 2019 from using Bumble as bosses believed she was catfishing as herself.

She called out the owners of the app to reinstate her profile. Thankfully for the legendary actress, the app obliged and brought her account back to life.

Sharon also admitted that she does not look for cheap flings on the dating apps, as she is looking solely for genuine romance. “I didn’t want to just go on Tinder and f*** somebody, do you know what I mean?” she explained.

“It’s so easy to f*** somebody,” she carried on. “You don’t have to go on Tinder; you go to f***ing [coffee shop chain] Coffee Bean – it’s not hard.”

Thanks to her role in the thriller Basic Instinct, Sharon Stone became a true sex symbol from the 1990s. But since the peak of her career, Sharon has admitted to struggling with issues such as depression and social anxiety.

Ahead of her interview with the newspaper, Sharon decided to cancel attending a party to celebrate the Emmys, which she pinned down to her social anxiety. “It’s just too f***ing much,” she confessed.

“I have paralytic social anxiety, I have always had it. I’m fantastic in a crisis; if you’re bleeding to death, I’ve got you covered.

“What I don’t like is 17 people talking all at the same time. I just would like to go home; enough with the chaos and the noise of nothing.”
