Costco’s “Emergency Meal Kits” Trigger Worries Of An Imminent Catastrophe

In a recent revelation that has sent shockwaves across the internet, Costco’s latest emergency meal kits have ignited discussions about preparedness, prompting some to question if an impending disaster is closer than we’d like to admit.

The alarm was sounded by none other than Krystal Christensen, a popular TikTok influencer known for her candid perspectives and a knack for delving into conspiracy theories, especially those concerning potential doomsday scenarios. With a following of over 98,000 avid viewers, her latest video showcasing Costco’s emergency food offerings is making waves.

“I stopped by Costco today, and Ready Wise emergency food is available for $63.99, complete with a whopping 132 servings,” Christensen announced at the beginning of her video. She then presented a box filled with emergency supplies, primarily consisting of over 100 servings of pasta.

While Christensen’s content often revolves around preparing for the unknown, she didn’t stop there. She also revealed Mountain House emergency meal kits, priced at $79.99, featuring a diverse selection of items such as eggs, chicken, dumplings, lasagna, and granola. Notably, these selections may appear random at first glance, but there’s a certain intrigue in being prepared for any culinary contingency.

Further into her video, Christensen introduced Mountain House freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches, available in packs of six for $9.97. “It might seem pricey,” she admitted, “but if things take a turn for the worse, having a bit of comfort on a challenging day could be priceless.”

Christensen concluded her video with advice for her followers, suggesting they choose between the two brands based on their budget and preferences.

As expected, the comments section of her TikTok video exploded with speculations and concerns. Many followers were convinced that these emergency meal kits were an indication of impending doom.

“Interesting. Emergency food supply… Like they know what’s coming,” one user mused, while another questioned, “If they’re selling emergency food packs, what do they know that we don’t?”

A third commenter remarked, “They are trying to tell us that there’s trouble on the horizon.”

However, it’s essential to set the record straight. These products are not novelties suddenly appearing on Costco’s shelves. In fact, Costco’s history of catering to the prepper crowd dates back to 2018 when they introduced their “$6,000 doomsday meal kit.” This comprehensive kit claimed to contain 36,000 servings of food, reportedly sufficient to feed a family of four for a year.

Costco’s marketing pitch back then was, “Enjoy the comfort of having essential foods for your family’s survival during an emergency or natural disaster.” With a shelf life of up to 25 years for the freeze-dried items, the Nutristore 1-Year Premium Food Kit averaged out to just $0.17 per portion.

Some people have noted that Costco has always been ahead of the game when it comes to disaster preparedness. One user pointed out, “Costco has been stocking up on apocalypse supplies for a while, but now they seem to be doing it more openly. Do they know something we don’t?”

In light of recent events and growing uncertainties, it might not be a bad idea to follow suit and stock up on essential supplies, just in case.
