Anne Hathaway stripped naked on film set for ‘no reason’ during racy mishap

Hollywood beauty Anne Hathaway said she got “unnecessarily naked” in front of a lot of people on set while shooting Love and Other Drugs (2010), which contained several sex scenes

Anne Hathaway says she got “unnecessarily naked” on set while shooting her 2010 film Love and Other Drugs.

The 41-year-old revealed she suffered a very steamy mishap indeed during the making of the rom-com, which involved a lot of sex scenes with co-star Jake Gyllenhaal. Anne plays Maggie Murdock, an artist with early onset Parkinson’s, while Jake plays womanising pharmaceutical salesman Jamie Randall.

The pair start having casual sex, but they end up falling for one another. Because their characters were bonking so much, it meant Anne had to get nude rather a lot.

But it seems she got a little too into character one day on set. The stunning Hollywood star was working on a saucy scene which involved her taking off her trench coat.

In the film, it sees Anne arrive at Gyllenhaal’s door, walk in and reveal herself to him and his on-screen brother.

“On the day I shot the scene where I have to remove my trench coat and be nude underneath. I thought we were filming, but it turned out we were just rehearsing and I got unnecessarily naked in front of a lot of people, but hey, I just did my job.”

The actress admitted she struggled with the racy nature of the flick and ‘cried every day’ while shooting it. “I had a bit of a roller coaster experience on this movie…

“I was playing a character way out of my comfort zone. All that overt sexuality is just not me,” she told Reuters. However, she insisted the sex scenes were necessary for the film to work.

“We didn’t want to lose the film’s energy in these scenes,” she said. “And I think that is what resulted in the film. It’s less of nudity and more of intimacy.”
Asked what drew her to the role, Anne told The Hollywood Reporter: “The script that I was sent was a story about a man who was changed by the love of a woman. And the script that we wound up making is a story of two people who are changed by love.

“What I brought to it was probably a sense of entitlement, that my character ought to have emotional parity with Jake’s.”
