It’s no secret that a healthy and loving environment is essential for a child’s development and his chances of becoming an adult with greater positive values ​​- and vice versa can have a negative impact in the future.

Unfortunately, too many families don’t have this thing. According to the Washington Post, more than 15 million children in the United States alone live without a father – that is 1 in three children. An amazing and shocking statistic at the same time.

And that’s one of the things that makes the single parent in this heartwarming story so wonderful.

The priorities of the single parent in this story are certainly correct. He always cared for his 6-year-old daughter, pampered her with love and compassion, and taught her everything he knew.

When Valentine’s Day came, this dad decided to take his girl on a very special date. This dad made sure to put everything aside to make his daughter feel loved on that special night. He could go on a date with his girlfriend, but knew how significant his date with the girl was to her.

The two went to the Spaghetti Factory restaurant to enjoy quality time and a good meal together. But what the father didn’t know was that this special evening would end in tears.

As the two sat together and enjoyed each other’s company, they did not know that a couple who was in the restaurant were watching and listening to them throughout the evening.

Moments later, the evening took an interesting turn. The waitress went to their table and gave the father a hand-written note.

The surprised father opened the note – and his surprise only grew as he read every word that was written.

“Hey! Sorry to spy on you, but my husband and I saw you with your little date and were impressed by what a wonderful father you are”, the note read.

“For two adults who grew up without a father, it’s important to have a father figure at such a young age. Keep up the good work Dad! Dinner is on us”.

Moved to tears
When he read the moving note from the strangers, the father could not hold back his tears.

“I wish I could thank them”, he later wrote in an online post. “I will not lie, I cried at the table. So thank you strangers. Thank you very much”.

We can only applaud this father who is undoubtedly doing his best for his daughter to give her the tools for a better future.
