After 19 seasons of renovating homes on HGTV\u2019s Love It or List It, Hilary Farr, 70, has decided it\u2019s time to step away and \u201cembrace new challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve given it so many years of my life,\u201d the interior designer told People. \u201cIt\u2019s got me through hard times. It\u2019s got the audiences through hard times. It has evolved into a mainstay of people\u2019s lives and it\u2019s been incredibly gratifying. But now it\u2019s time for me to move on and meet new challenges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Farr began her stint on the HGTV show in 2008 and has remained a favorite among fans for her ability to make magic with homeowners\u2019 long must-have lists and small budgets.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile her counterpart, realtor David Visentin, 58, searches for a new house for the homeowners in hopes that by the end of the renovation the only thing they\u2019ll want to say is \u201clist it!\u201d<\/p>\n

Although news of Farr\u2019s decision is only coming out now, she says she made the decision about a year ago when it came time to film the show\u2019s 20th season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realized that everything that I am as a woman, which is [that I] look for challenges, look for inspiration, look for new ideas, be excited about all the possibilities that are out there, had really needed to bloom and to find their way,\u201d she said. \u201cI told everyone I\u2019m done.\u201d<\/p>\n

But not everyone believed her, including Visentin.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought that everyone had accepted it, but they hadn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

She found herself rethinking her decision, but ultimately decided it was time to move on.<\/p>\n

While she may be stepping away from Love It or List It, Farr isn\u2019t sure she\u2019s stepping away from HGTV.<\/p>\n

In 2021, she began hosting her own series, Tough Love with Hilary Farr. As of publication, it hasn\u2019t been renewed for a third season, yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see what happens there. I\u2019m not at all stepping away,\u201d Farr said.<\/p>\n

We wonder if Love It or List It will continue. The banter between Hilary and David was half the show!<\/p>\n
