Picture this: four guys, early morning, coffee thermoses and tackle boxes in hand, heading out to the lake for a weekend of fishing.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s quiet, with a bit of fog hanging over the water, and for a while, it\u2019s just the sound of lures hitting the surface and birds calling out to each other.<\/p>\n
Eventually, though, as it always does with longtime friends, the banter starts. And, of course, the conversation turns to their favorite \u2013 oftentimes the most complicated \u2013 topic: their wives.<\/p>\n
The first guy opens the conversation by telling his pals about how he was able to convince his wife into letting him escape the duties at home to go on a weekend fishing trip.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have no idea what I had to do to be able to come out fishing this weekend. I had to promise my wife I would paint every room in the house next weekend,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The second guy laughs and says, \u201cThat\u2019s nothing!\u201d Sighing over his upcoming tasks, he adds, \u201cI had to promise my wife that I\u2019ll build a new deck for the pool.\u201d<\/p>\n
The third guy pulls his line out of the water and takes a swig out of this thermos.<\/p>\n
\u201cMan, you both have it easy! I had to promise my wife that I\u2019ll remodel the kitchen for her,\u201d he says as he puts the coffee back down on the deck.<\/p>\n
The four men continued to fish, until they realized they hadn\u2019t yet heard from their last friend, who seemed unusually calm. <\/p>\n
One of the men blurted out, \u201cHey, you haven\u2019t said anything about what you had to do to come fishing this weekend. What\u2019s the deal?\u201d<\/p>\n
Turning his look away from his fishing rod, the fourth guy smiled and said, \u201cI just set my alarm for 5:30 am. When it went off, I shut off the clock, gave the wife a nudge and said, \u2018fishing or sex?\u2019 and she said, \u2018wear a sweater.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
