Frank Caprio, the beloved judge and star of\u00a0Caught in Providence<\/em>, shared an emotional video to his\u00a0social media\u00a0on December 6 announcing his\u00a0cancer diagnosis.<\/p>\n

In the clip, the 87-year-old, who recently retired, briefly discussed his birthday before letting fans know he had been \u201cdiagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, which is an insidious form of cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201c\u201dThis birthday is a little different than any other I have ever had. Quite recently, I was not feeling well and received a medical examination and the report was not a good one,\u201d the television personality began the clip.<\/p>\n

He explained that he\u2019s currently undergoing treatment in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pray that God guides their thoughts and their hands in their treatment of me. I know this is a long road and I\u2019m fully prepared to fight as hard as I can,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

Caprio then requested that his followers and fans pray for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne thing that people ask me is, \u2018What can I do for you?\u2019 First of all, I can\u2019t thank all of you enough for your friendship and your kind messages. But I would ask each of you in your own way to please pray for me. I am in need of the power of prayer, which I believe, in addition to the medical treatment that I\u2019m receiving, is the most powerful weapon to help me survive this.\u201d<\/p>\n
