Leading up to the big show, much of the buzz centered around how Kendrick would address his ongoing beef with Drake\u2014one of hip-hop\u2019s biggest rivalries.<\/p>\n

And Kendrick Lamar did made a bold statement during his performance. The 37-year-old rapper took the stage at the Caesars Superdome, rocking a massive silver and diamond chain featuring a lowercase \u201da.\u201d<\/p>\n

At first, the meaning behind the letter was unclear. But fans soon made the connection \u2014 Kendrick was throwing shade at Drake.<\/p>\n

What did the A stand for
\nIn his explosive diss track Not Like Us, Kendrick raps, \u201cWhy you trollin\u2019 like a b**h? Ain\u2019t you tired? Trying to strike a chord and it\u2019s probably A minor.\u201d*<\/p>\n

And just like that, the mystery of the \u201ca\u201d was solved \u2014 Kendrick\u2019s chain was a direct reference to \u201cA minor,\u201d another subtle jab at his longtime rival.<\/p>\n

Fans on social media went wild over the diss:<\/p>\n

Kendrick Lamar said all he had to with that \u2018a minor\u2019 chain,\u201d another added.<\/p>\n

Some even speculated that the \u201ca\u201d could stand for \u201dAubrey\u201d \u2014 Drake\u2019s real first name.<\/p>\n

But that wasn\u2019t the only shot fired. Kendrick also brought out tennis legend Serena Williams, who just happens to be one of Drake\u2019s famous exes. The petty levels were off the charts\u2014and Williams\u2019 Crip Walking completely stole the show.<\/p>\n

Williams didn\u2019t mention Drake after the performance, but she did share her excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter. \u201cLet\u2019s go Super Bowl halftime??! I died a little!\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

The Kendrick vs. Drake Feud
\nKendrick and Drake have been at odds since 2023, and things only escalated when Not Like Us dropped. Just four months after Kendrick was announced as the Super Bowl halftime performer, Drake sued Universal Music Group, claiming the label helped Kendrick secure the gig.<\/p>\n

Drake\u2019s lawsuit even accused Not Like Us of portraying him as a pedophile. But legal experts weren\u2019t convinced the case would hold up.<\/p>\n

Entertainment attorney Camron Dowlatshahi told The U.S. Sun, \u201cThis is a hit song, and he\u2019s the main artist. So I\u2019m fairly confident he\u2019s gonna play it.\u201d<\/p>\n

And he did \u2014 loud and clear.<\/p>\n
