The singer who has long said publicly that she is a lesbian is making headlines for a new realization she has had in relation to that label.<\/p>\n

JoJo Siwa has made headlines several times in recent years due to her personal life. The singer is currently appearing on UK Celebrity Big Brother.<\/p>\n
During a live stream for the show, the 21-year-old opened up to Danny Bear, a drag performer, on how her identity has shifted. She shared how she feels like the label \u2018queer\u2019 feels more honest t her than the label \u2018lesbian\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel, like, so queer, do you know what I mean?\u201d she said to her housemate.
\n\u201cI think that\u2019s the thing, I\u2019ve always told myself I\u2019m a lesbian, and I think being here I\u2019ve realized: \u2018Oh, I\u2019m not a lesbian, I\u2019m queer,\u2019 and I think that\u2019s really cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
She went on to add, \u201cI\u2019m switching letters! F**k the L, I\u2019m going to the Q! That\u2019s what I love about s*xuality.\u201d<\/p>\n
Danny, another contestant who identifies as queer encouraged her by saying, \u201cAnd you know that British people love a queue!\u201d<\/p>\n
This is not the first time the singer has discussed her orientation while on the reality show. When Mickey Rourke asked if she liked \u201cboys or girls,\u201d she replied, \u201cMe? Girls. My partner is nonbinary,\u201d she said, referring to actor and DJ Kath Ebbs.<\/p>\n
Soon after this conversation, Mickey began making homophobic remarks at JoJo Siwa\u2019s expense. These included telling everyone to \u201cvote the lesbian out\u201d and using a slur for gay people.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I stay longer than four days, you won\u2019t be gay anymore,\u201d he also said to her.<\/p>\n
JoJo Siwa immediately replied to this comment, saying, \u201cI can guarantee I\u2019ll still be gay and I\u2019ll still be in a very happy relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n
The former pro boxer was given a warning by Big Brother and eventually asked to leave the competition show.<\/p>\n
Big Brother also summoned JoJo Siwa for a private conversation about a \u2018secret message\u2019 between her and Chris Hughes. The conversation broke the rules of the show as coded communication among participants is not allowed.<\/p>\n
When asked to explain the code, the singer broke down in tears. It was apparently about her gender identity.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s something that I\u2019m not ready, necessarily, to be open about or upfront about, but it has to do with gender and how do I feel. Let\u2019s put it this way\u2026 Oh my god, this is a lot\u2026\u201d she shared amid tears.<\/p>\n
She shared that she is \u201cnot sure\u201d about how she identifies right now and added that \u201cIt\u2019s OK to not know\u201d<\/p>\n
She shared her confusion, saying, \u201cEssentially, you have female, you have male. I\u2019ve met a lot of females, love them, don\u2019t feel like them. Met a lot of males, love them, definitely not them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMet a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like and\u2026 I don\u2019t know, it\u2019s not something I want to say about myself yet, but it\u2019s something that is confusing and that\u2019s probably why we were talking about it last night.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s important to be honest, and I think it\u2019s important to also show that it\u2019s OK to not know,\u201d the singer explained.<\/p>\n
JoJo Siwa has been in the media ever since she was a child, having risen to fame when she was on the show Dance Moms. She came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021 when she shared a picture of herself wearing a t-shirt which read, \u201cBEST GAY COUSIN EVER.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI still don\u2019t know what I am. It\u2019s like, I want to figure it out,\u201d she said in an interview later to People magazine. \u201cBut like, I don\u2019t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI like queer,\u201d she said at the time. \u201cTechnically I would say that I am pansexual because that\u2019s how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human.\u201d<\/p>\n
She said she knew she wasn\u2019t straight \u201csince [she] was little\u201d and she had \u201ca lot that could have gone away because of [her] love life.\u201d<\/p>\n
In April last year, she described her music genre as being \u2018gay pop.\u2019 A term that turned a lot of heads.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not the creator, I\u2019m not the president, but I might be the CEO, or the CMO,\u201d she said about it.<\/p>\n
