A plane was cruising smoothly toward Vancouver when a woman named Lily, seated in economy class, decided she deserved an upgrade.
\nWithout hesitation, she marched up to first class, plopped herself into an empty seat, and made herself at home.<\/p>\n
A flight attendant quickly spotted her and approached with a polite but firm smile.<\/p>\n
FLIGHT ATTENDANT: \u201cExcuse me, miss. May I see your boarding pass?\u201d<\/p>\n
LILY: (waving a hand dramatically) \u201cI\u2019m Lily. I\u2019m fabulous. I\u2019m headed to Vancouver\u2014and I\u2019m staying right here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trying not to show her frustration, the flight attendant gently explained,
\nFLIGHT ATTENDANT: \u201cMiss, you purchased an economy ticket. You\u2019ll need to return to your assigned seat.\u201d<\/p>\n
LILY: \u201cI\u2019m Lily, I\u2019m fabulous, I\u2019m headed to Vancouver\u2014and I\u2019m staying right here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Seeing she was getting nowhere, the flight attendant excused herself and made her way to the cockpit to inform the crew.<\/p>\n
FLIGHT ATTENDANT: \u201cCaptain, co-pilot\u2014we\u2019ve got a woman in first class who refuses to leave.\u201d<\/p>\n
The co-pilot offered to handle it and walked down the aisle to try his luck.<\/p>\n
CO-PILOT: (kindly) \u201cMiss, since your ticket is for economy, I need to ask you to return to your seat.\u201d<\/p>\n
LILY: (without missing a beat) \u201cI\u2019m Lily, I\u2019m fabulous, I\u2019m headed to Vancouver\u2014and I\u2019m staying right here.\u201d<\/p>\n
Baffled, the co-pilot returned to the cockpit.<\/p>\n
CO-PILOT: \u201cI think we\u2019re going to need security when we land. She\u2019s not budging.\u201d<\/p>\n
The captain, overhearing the conversation, just chuckled.<\/p>\n
PILOT: \u201cRelax. I\u2019ve got this. My wife\u2019s just like her.\u201d<\/p>\n
He strolled down the aisle, leaned down, and whispered something into Lily\u2019s ear.<\/p>\n
Immediately, Lily\u2019s eyes widened in shock.<\/p>\n
LILY: \u201cOh, I\u2019m so sorry!\u201d she gasped, jumping up and scurrying back to economy without a fuss.<\/p>\n
The flight attendant and co-pilot stared at the pilot in amazement.<\/p>\n
FLIGHT ATTENDANT: \u201cCaptain, what on earth did you say to her?\u201d<\/p>\n
The pilot grinned.<\/p>\n
