Brazilian fashion star Junior Dutra has died seven months after a ‘fox eye thread lift’ that he claimed was bungled by a dentist who was masquerading as a surgeon<\/p>\n

\nA Brazilian fashion stylist died on Friday after developing an infection that he blamed on a “fox eye” procedure. Adair Mendes Dutra Junior, known as “Junior Dutra” to his 122,000 Instagram followers, had the cosmetic thread lift seven months ago.
\nThe treatment uses polydioxanone (PDO) threads under the skin to pull the brow up for a more “feline” look. But the stylist sued the man who carried out the lift after suffering severe pain and complications.
\nHe accused the operator of pretending to be a facial surgery specialist while actually being a dentist.<\/p>\n

“When asked to provide the medical records, the defendant refused,” the stylist claimed. “Later, he presented an irregular document… meaning he wasn’t actually a doctor, as he had claimed to be.”

\n“As soon as I had the procedure done, it felt like a vein had burst on the left side of my face,” he said. “The right side was fine, but on the left I could feel the thread pushing out.<\/p>\n

“He said, ‘No, it’s not the thread,’ filling my head with all sorts of things – he even told me I had a skin disease.”

\nDutra, who worked as a fashion consultant and stylist, was laid to rest in Sao Paulo on Saturday. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed by family or authorities.<\/p>\n

Dutra accused his “surgeon” of practising medicine illegally and causing serious bodily harm. But the operator claimed that the PDO thread is absorbable and fully biodegradable.<\/p>\n

“It dissolves, releasing collagen and elastin, and that was the thread he used,” he said.
\nBy the time he came back in July, August, and September, the thread had almost completely – or entirely – disappeared. So, in my assessment, the infection wasn’t related to the thread.”
