But unlike her four-legged siblings, Nora\u2019s abuse traumatized her so much that she was afraid of everyone and everything. Then, a special arrival changed Nora\u2019s perspective.<br \/>\nThe Spence home is dominated by five rescued pets and three children. \u201cAt any time of day you\u2019re likely to find a pile of kids, cats and\/or dogs lying about the house somewhere,\u201d Spence says. The family has long advocated for animals in need, and when it came to Nora, they couldn\u2019t say no to giving her a loving home.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/vfd0001-300x234.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/vfd0001-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/vfd0001.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nora is an eight-year-old pointer whose fears run deep around everyone, except for Spence\u2019s 11-month-old baby boy, Archie. In this sweet little boy, Nora has found the peace she needs as she heals from the abuse she experienced for most of her life.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/asfdasfasdfasdZX-216x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/asfdasfasdfasdZX-216x300.jpg 216w, https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/asfdasfasdfasdZX.jpg 539w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 216px) 100vw, 216px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cArchie is an extremely laid-back, happy, good-natured baby and all the animals seem to really respond to that, particularly Nora,\u201d Spence said. \u201cShe came from an abusive background and is afraid of almost everything. Not Archie, though. She absolutely adores him!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dfsfsdfsdf-300x212.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"212\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2231\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dfsfsdfsdf-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/dfsfsdfsdf.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When Spence noticed that Nora enjoyed being around Archie, she grabbed her camera and took some adorable pictures. Those few images paved the way for a touching record of a boy and his dog growing up together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ddddd-219x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2232\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ddddd-219x300.jpg 219w, https:\/\/ourtimenew.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/ddddd.jpg 547w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 219px) 100vw, 219px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now that Archie is up and toddling around, Nora is always at his side. Spence explains,\u201dIf Archie is having a bath, Nora is lying on the bath mat waiting for him to get out. If I\u2019m nursing him she wants up on my lap, too.
