An old man was lying across three entire seats in a crowded movie theater, stretched out awkwardly and barely moving.<\/p>\n
People nearby kept glancing at him, annoyed that he was taking up so much space. Finally, an usher noticed and quietly walked over.<\/p>\n
Leaning down, he whispered, \u201cSorry, sir, but you\u2019re only allowed one seat.\u201d<\/p>\n
The old man didn\u2019t answer. He just let out a painful groan.<\/p>\n
The usher frowned. \u201cSir, please. You can\u2019t lie across three seats. Other people need somewhere to sit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Again, the old man only groaned and stayed exactly where he was.<\/p>\n
The usher, now losing patience, straightened up and said, \u201cSir, if you don\u2019t get up from there, I\u2019m going to have to call the manager.\u201d<\/p>\n
The old man still didn\u2019t move.<\/p>\n
A few moments later, the usher returned with the manager. Together, they tried talking to the old man, urging him to sit up and move into just one seat. But no matter what they said, he only groaned weakly.<\/p>\n
Finally, the manager sighed and called the police.<\/p>\n
A police officer arrived, looked at the old man sprawled across the seats, then crouched beside him.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll right, buddy,\u201d the officer said. \u201cWhat\u2019s your name?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFred,\u201d the old man moaned.<\/p>\n
The officer nodded. \u201cOkay, Fred. Where ya from?\u201d<\/p>\n
With terrible pain in his voice, and without moving a muscle, Fred replied,<\/p>\n
