A woman came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find her 5-year old son waiting for her at the door.<\/p>\n
Son: \u201cMommy, may I ask you a question?\u201d<\/p>\n
Mom: \u201cYeah sure, what it is?\u201d replied the woman.<\/p>\n
Son: \u201cMommy, how much do you make an hour?\u201d<\/p>\n
Mom: \u201cThat\u2019s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?\u201d the woman said angrily.<\/p>\n
Son: \u201cI just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?\u201d<\/p>\n
Mom: \u201cIf you must know, I make \u00a315 an hour.\u201d<\/p>\n
Son: \u201cOh,\u201d the little boy replied, with his head down.<\/p>\n
Son: \u201cMommy, may I please borrow \u00a35?\u201d<\/p>\n
The mother was furious, \u201cIf the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don\u2019t work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.\u201d<\/p>\n
The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door\u2026<\/p>\n
The woman sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy\u2019s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?<\/p>\n
After about an hour or so, the woman had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that \u00a35 and he really didn\u2019t ask for money very often.The woman went to the door of the little boy\u2019s room and opened the door.<\/p>\n
\u201cAre you asleep, son?\u201d She asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo Mommy, I\u2019m awake,\u201d replied the boy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier\u201d said the woman. \u201cIt\u2019s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here\u2019s the \u00a35 you asked for.\u201d<\/p>\n
The little boy sat straight up, smiling. \u201cOh, thank you Mommy!\u201d he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.<\/p>\n
The woman saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his mother.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy do you want more money if you already have some?\u201d the mother grumbled.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause I didn\u2019t have enough, but now I do,\u201d the little boy replied.<\/p>\n
\u201cMommy, I have \u00a315 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.\u201d<\/p>\n
