\nThe Most Emotional Funeral Service He\u2019d Ever Played<\/p>\n

As a guitarist, I play many gigs.<\/p>\n

Recently I was asked by a funer@l director to play at a graveside service for a homeless man.<\/p>\n

He had no family or friends, so the service was to be at a pauper\u2019s cemetery in the back country.<\/p>\n

As I was not familiar with the backwoods, I got lost.<\/p>\n

I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funer@l guy had evidently gone and the hearse was nowhere in sight.<\/p>\n

There were only the diggers and crew left and they were eating lunch.<\/p>\n

I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late.<\/p>\n

I went to the side of the grave and looked down and the vault lid was already in place.<\/p>\n

I didn\u2019t know what else to do, so I started to play.<\/p>\n

The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around.<\/p>\n

I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends.<\/p>\n

I played like I\u2019ve never played before for this homeless man.<\/p>\n

And as I played \u2018Amazing Grace,\u2019 the workers began to weep.<\/p>\n

They wept, I wept, we all wept together.<\/p>\n

When I finished I packed up my guitar and started for my car.<\/p>\n

Though my head hung low, my heart was full.<\/p>\n

As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say,\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cI never seen nothin\u2019 like that before and I\u2019ve been putting in septic tanks for twenty years.\u201d<\/p>\n
