A 70-year-old woman decided to stay at an expensive hotel for her birthday.<\/p>\n
The next morning, she was appalled when the desk clerk gave her a bill for $250.00. She wanted to know why the charge was too high.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a nice hotel, but the rooms certainly aren\u2019t worth $250.00 for just an overnight stay! I didn\u2019t even have breakfast,\u201d she told the clerk.<\/p>\n
The clerk clarified that $250.00 is the standard price. At that point, the older lady insisted on talking with the manager.<\/p>\n
The manager introduced himself and explained that the hotel \u201chas an Olympic-size swimming pool and a huge conference center, which are available for use.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I didn\u2019t use them,\u201d the old woman said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, they\u2019re there, and you could have,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n
The manager proceeded by saying that she could likewise have seen one of the in-hotel shows for which the hotel is famous.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have the best entertainers from the world over performing here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I didn\u2019t go to any of those shows,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The manager replied, \u201cWell, we have them, and you could have.\u201d<\/p>\n
Regardless of what facility he recommended, the older lady would just answer, \u201cBut I didn\u2019t use it!\u201d<\/p>\n
The manager then replied with his standard reaction. After arguing with him for several minutes, she decided to pay.<\/p>\n
The manager was shocked when she handed him the check. \u201cBut ma\u2019am, this check is only $50.00,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s right. I charged you $200.00 for s-l.e.e.p.i.n.g with me,\u201d replied the old lady.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut I didn\u2019t!\u201d the manager shouted.<\/p>\n
\u201cWell, too bad, I was here, and you could have,\u201d the old woman replied.<\/p>\n
