This infuriated her atheist neighbor, who would always make sure to counter back, \u201cThere is no Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n
One morning, the atheist neighbor overheard his neighbor praying for food. Thinking it would be funny, he went and bought her all sorts of groceries and left them on her porch.<\/p>\n
The next morning, the lady screamed, \u201cPraise the Lord, who gave me this food.\u201d<\/p>\n
The neighbor, laughing so hard he could barely get the words out, screamed, \u201cIt wasn\u2019t the Lord, it was me.\u201d<\/p>\n
The lady, without missing a beat, screamed,
\nPraise the Lord for not only giving me food but making the atheist pay for it!!\u201c<\/p>\n
A woman made fun of this kid\u2019s Prayer<\/p>\n
Last week, when I took my kids to a restaurant, my six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.<\/p>\n
We bowed our heads, and he started, \u201cGod is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would thank you even more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Justice and Liberty for all! Amen!\u201d<\/p>\n
All the other customers were laughing, and I heard a woman say, \u201cThat\u2019s what\u2019s wrong with this country. Kids today don\u2019t even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!\u201d<\/p>\n
My son started to cry and asked me, \u201cDid I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?\u201d<\/p>\n
I held him and said that he did a great job and God was certainly not mad at him. Then an elderly gentleman approached the table, winked at my son, and said:<\/p>\n
\u201cI happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.\u201d
\nReally?\u201d my son asked.<\/p>\n
The man said, \u201cCross my heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said in a theatrical whisper, indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing, \u201cToo bad she never asks God for ice cream. Sometimes, a little ice cream is good for the soul.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the end of the meal, I bought ice cream for my kids. My little son stared at the ice cream and did something I would never forget in my lifetime.<\/p>\n
Without a word, he picked up his sundae and walked over and placed it in front of that woman. He told her with a big smile, \u201cHere, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes, and my soul is good already.\u201d<\/p>\n
