Christina Applegate received a standing ovation that reduced her to tears at last night\u2019s 75th annual Emmy Awards.<\/p>\n

The actress\u2019 well-documented battle with multiple sclerosis has captured the sympathies of fans the world over, and though her health issues have no doubt been a huge struggle, Applegate continues to put on a brave face.
\nLast night (Monday, January 15) the 52-year-old took to the stage, aided by a cane, to present two awards at the Emmys, and her appearance was celebrated by those in attendance.<\/p>\n

Applegate, best known for her roles in films such as Anchorman and TV series including Dead to Me, was helped across the stage by actor Anthony Anderson.
\nWith the actress making her way to the podium, the audience at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles collectively rose to their feet in support.
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

It was an emotional moment, and one that didn\u2019t fail to make an impact on Applegate.
\n\u201cThank you so much! Oh my God!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re totally shaming me [and my] disability by standing up.\u201d
\nShe added: \u201cSome of you may know me as Kelly Bundy from Married with Children. We don\u2019t have to applaud every time I do something.\u201d
\nThe Bad Moms actress concluded her speech by telling the audience: \u201cI\u2019m going to cry more than I\u2019ve been crying.\u201d

\nUnsurprisingly, Christina\u2019s reception and the general appreciation for an inspiring woman who\u2019s endured so much of late, struck a positive cord with fans watching from home.
\n\u201cThe standing ovation for Christina Applegate has me bawling already,\u201d one fan wrote.
\n\u201cI adore Christina Applegate,\u201d another wrote. \u201cShe\u2019s such an amazing comedic talent and absolutely gorgeous (always has been!). Her zings here are fire.\u201d
\n\u201cMan, that was a beautiful moment for Christina Applegate,\u201d a third wrote.
\n\u201cRandomly woke up at 4:30am and straight away saw that clip of the huge ovation for Christina Applegate. And now I\u2019m going to have to cry myself back to sleep,\u201d a fourth admitted.<\/p>\n

Applegate revealed her MS diagnosis back in 2021, and admitted last year that the illness means she will likely not be able to act on camera anymore.
\n\u201cWith the disease of MS, it\u2019s never a good day,\u201d she told Vanity Fair. \u201cGoing down the stairs, carrying things\u2014you can\u2019t do that anymore. It f\u2014ing sucks.\u201d
\nShe continued: \u201cI\u2019m probably not going to work on-camera again.\u201d
\n\u201cI can\u2019t even imagine going to set right now. This is a progressive disease. I don\u2019t know if I\u2019m going to get worse. I can do voiceover stuff because I have to support my family and keep my brain working.\u201d
