Lisa McCaffrey, the mother of the running back for the San Francisco 49ers, Christian McCaffrey, said that she plans on boycotting Taylor Swift in the run up to the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. Scheduled for February 11, 2024, the game has drawn even more attention than normal thanks to the full-press mainstream media hype effort around Swift.<\/p>\n
But Lisa McCaffrey, though normally a Swift fan, or Swiftie, said that she will be boycotting Swift for this week given Swift\u2019s relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. That comment came when McCaffrey appeared on Olivia Culpo\u2019s podcast, \u201cYour Mom.\u201d During her appearance, she explained her usual support for Swift but current boycott plans.<\/p>\n
\u201cI refuse to listen to Taylor Swift songs for the next couple days,\u201d she said. \u201cI love her, I love the relationship, but we are boycotting any T. Swift songs,\u201d she added. Continuing, McCaffrey added that she\u2019d have trouble with that, even if just for a week \u201cbecause I have her on my running playlist and everything.\u201d McCaffrey then returned to the boycott pledge, saying, \u201cBut if she pops up on the radio station . . . nope. She\u2019s dead to us this week.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, much of MAGA has declared total war on Taylor Swift over her leftist leanings and alleged willingness to support Joe Biden in the 2024 election, something she did in 2020 as well. Swift has not yet jumped into the 2024 electoral fray on either side, though that hasn\u2019t stopped some close to Trump from going after her and the effort to promote her.<\/p>\n
Vivek Ramaswamy, for example, opined on X that the NFL could be rigging games in favor of the Chiefs because having her around helps so much with ratings and getting women to watch. \u201cI wonder who\u2019s going to win the Super Bowl next month,\u201d Ramaswamy wrote. \u201cAnd I wonder if there\u2019s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
Similarly, Charlie Kirk argued that Taylor backing Biden would make it even more difficult for the GOP to scrape out a 2024 win. \u201cThat will be a tsunami that will be very difficult to thwart,\u201d Kirk said. Continuing, he called on conservatives to prepare for such an eventuality, saying, \u201cWe better be prepared. It seems as though things are aligning for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
Still others on the right have argued that the NFL is in league with the Deep State to get Biden elected through Swift. Fox News Channel host Jesse Watters, for example, said, in December of 2023, \u201cIt\u2019s real. The Pentagon psy-op unit pitched NATO on turning Taylor Swift into an asset for combating misinformation online.\u201d<\/p>\n
One senior administration official, speaking to POLITICO on that theory, did his best to characterize it as ridiculous. The official said, \u201cThe absurdity of it all boggles the mind. It feels like one of those \u2018tell me you are a MAGA conspiracy theorist, without telling me you are a MAGA conspiracy theorist\u2019 memes.\u201d<\/p>\n
