Annie Wersching was an actress best known for her role as Renee Walker on the series \u201c24\u201d and as the voice of Tess on the video game \u201cLast of Us.\u201d She was also a wife and a mother with three boys. Her life was full. Now it is over.<\/p>\n

Wersching\u2019s publicist told The Associated Press that she died after a long battle with cancer. She was diagnosed in 2020. She died on January 29, 2023. The type of cancer was not mentioned. She was only 45 years old.<\/p>\n

Wersching is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and her three sons, Freddie, age 12, Ozzie, age 9, and Archie, age 4. A GoFundMe has been set up \u201cso Steve can have time to grieve without the pressure of needing to work. So he can be daddy\u2026It\u2019s to give them time to navigate life as a family of four without the burden of paying medical bills or funeral expenses. It\u2019s so they can continue to live life in a way that they know would make Annie proud.\u201d In just one day, the fundraiser has already raised over $150,000.<\/p>\n

Full released a statement about his wife\u2019s death explaining, \u201cThere is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today. But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn\u2019t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. \u2018Go find it. It\u2019s everywhere.\u2019 And find it we shall.\u201d He added, \u201cAs I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. \u2018I love you little family\u2026\u2019\u201d

The creator of the video game \u201cThe Last of Us,\u201d Neil Drummond, posted a tribute to Wersching on Twitter. He wrote, \u201cWe just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is shattered. Thoughts are with her loved ones.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jon Casser, the director and producer on the series \u201c24,\u201d also commented on Wersching\u2019s death. He said, \u201cMy heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She\u2019ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you\u2019ll be missed, you left your mark, and we\u2019re all the better for it.\u201d
