<\/p>\nWheel of Fortunate has welcomed thousands of contestants onto the show over its decades on the air. However, a recent contestant might go down in Wheel of Fortune history as giving one of the worst guesses ever when he appeared on the program last week. Matt had just guessed a letter correctly, which gave him an upper hand on the board, but then he used his imagination to come up with an answer so absurd it\u2019ll likely go down in Wheel of Fortune history for the remainder of the show\u2019s popularity.<\/p>\n

Although the second word started with the letter N, Matt had it in his head to blurt out his solution to the puzzle. He famously said, \u201cThe Best Buttercup,\u201d although there was no possibility that his answer was the correct solution to the puzzle on the board. Some viewers questioned whether Matt said \u201cButtercup\u201d or \u201cButtercut,\u201d but that is beside the point. Either way, his proposed solution will go down in Wheel of Fortune history as being one of the most bizarre solutions provided on the program.<\/p>\n
From his position off-camera, host Pat Sajak could not hide his disdain for the contestant\u2019s poor guess. He sarcastically said, \u201cUh, no. Oddly enough, no.\u201d
\nMatt did get the first word of the puzzle correct \u2013 \u201cThe.\u201d However, the rest of it was way off. The correct solution was \u201cThe Next Generation,\u201d which doesn\u2019t share much in common with \u201cThe Best Buttercup,\u201d as Matt thought was the right solution.<\/p>\n
Despite his ridiculous guess on this puzzle, Matt did very well during the game. He won and took home a large chunk of change as the winner. Clearly, this was a fluke and did not indicate whether he was a good or bad player. Perhaps, part of the reason he was able to succeed and claim victory on the show was that he was able to take risks and speak his mind \u2013 even when it might not be the correct answer.

\nOthers added their shock in the comments of one person\u2019s tweet.
\n\u201cWhat I\u2019m equally as confused about is how does this guy have 9,900 bucks so far? I suppose any monkey could pick out a letter.\u201d
\n\u201cWheel of fortune is getting dummer (sic). The category is people you\u2019d think it would b someone, but the next generation is not people.\u201d
