Boss: \u201cMadam, I can assure you we do not allov that. If you could point out the server who is wearing them l\u2019lI happily sort this out for you.\u201d Wife: \u201cFor God\u2019s sake! It\u2019s the girl!\u201d she points to me as I\u2019m still standing at the table \u201cWe are in here all the time and I have never known such disregard for the customer.\u201d Boss: \u201cI\u2019m really sorry.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s no way you deserve to be treated this way.\u201d Wife: \u201cI should think so. I just-\u201d Boss: \u201cNot you. I was talking to my employee and friend. Now you have not only embarrassed yourself and th rest of your table but also my staff member. I\u2019m very sorry but I have to ask you to leave, madam. The rest of your table may stay if they so wish but I simply cannot have my staff treated that way. Please leave. Now.\u201d Wife: \u201cWell! I think you\u2019ll find you\u2019ve just made a very big mistake talking to me like that. You have lost a lot of business from us. My husbanc here is a solicitor and he will-\u201d Husband: \u201cThat\u2019s enough. I\u2019m really sorry. We\u2019ve been served by your waitress before anc know she wears hearing aids, and I\u2019m not a solicitor.\u201d to his wife \u201cI think you need to go home. I\u2019m hungry; I would like to order, please. (The wife looks about the table as the rest of the guests sit there in silence. She then gets up and flounces out. I take everyone\u2019s order and the rest of the evening goes very smoothly. When the guests ask for the bill the husband calls me over.) Husband: \u201cI\u2019m really sorry about my wife. Do you know, I don\u2019t work and neither does she. I won the money on the lottery. Before we were rich I was an accountant and she worked in a shoe shop. I really have no idea why she\u2019s like that. I promise I\u2019ll never bring her in here again (The meal itself cost over \u00a3400 and I made a massive tip as everyone at the table felt really badly. The husband still comes in with friends but never brings his wife.
