Lisa saw a suspicious text message on her husband, David\u2019s phone, when he wanted Lisa to answer his mother\u2019s call, while he was in the shower. It was a normal thing for them to answer each other\u2019s phones, while they were busy with something else.<\/p>\n

As she was putting the phone down, a message popped.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlease don\u2019t tell Lisa yet. We\u2019ll do it together.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she saw the message, she was sure that David was cheating on her. She was devastated. She sat on the bed, listened her husband having a shower while humming a song.<\/p>\n

She was with David since high school, and he was the only person she dated, as she was the only person David had dated.<\/p>\n

After David left the shower, they went to the living room to watch a movie.<\/p>\n

\u201cHoney, I\u2019m going to bed,\u201d Lisa said, as she felt that she can\u2019t stand without saying anything. \u201cYou can finish the movie, though, before coming up.\u201d

Then she saw that David\u2019s phone was there in the bedroom, and snooped through her husband\u2019s phone. As there were no secret meeting plans or love words, they were only talking about Lisa. About her work, and what she would like to do in her free time.<\/p>\n

She then sent a message, \u201cCome over tomorrow, my place, at 2 p.m. Lisa will be at work.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next day, as she was trying to focus on her work from her laptop, she couldn\u2019t. At 2 p.m., the doorbell got ranged. Her heart skipped a beat. As she opened the door, she saw a woman, who was familiar but she couldn\u2019t put her to a place.<\/p>\n

\u201cAre you Lisa?\u201d she asked. \u201cI\u2019m Gloria.\u201d<\/p>\n

As she was in panic, she couldn\u2019t understand why her husband was cheating on her with an older woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m your mother, Lisa,\u201d the woman said.<\/p>\n

Lisa knew that she was adopted, but she was so confused. She only saw her mother through an old picture, where she was young.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cTell me everything,\u201d Lisa said, as she welcomed her into the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were born out of love, Lisa,\u201d Gloria said. \u201cBut circumstances forced me to give you up for adoption. Your father and I were only fifteen. We were children going to have a baby. My father refused for me to have you. He was worried about how it would reflect on him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother tried to let me keep you, but in the end, he took you away in the middle of the night. He took you to a hospital and left you there. You must have been four days old.\u201d<\/p>\n

She only had one picture in her blanket, on the behind these were written, \u201cGloria Manson, 1987.\u201d<\/p>\n

As they were talking over a hot chocolate and toast, David came home. He saw Lisa and Gloria.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cOh honey,\u201d David said, \u201cI didn\u2019t know how to tell you, Lisa. Gloria contacted me months ago, and I\u2019ve been helping her reconnect with you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDavid\u2019s wanted to tell you about me for a while. I kept telling him not to,\u201d Gloria continued. \u201cI needed to get my bearings first. Up until last night, he wanted to tell you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy did you both wait so long?\u201d Lisa asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was afraid, Lisa,\u201d Gloria said. \u201cHow do you tell your child that you were barely a teenager when you had her and that her grandfather took her away?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was a photo of you,\u201d Lisa said, \u201cIt was left with me. My mother showed it to me on my sixteenth birthday, but I didn\u2019t know how to do about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve watched you from a distance,\u201d Gloria revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy father recently gave me a few details about you, and through the hospital, I discovered who you were.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand if you\u2019re angry or confused,\u201d Gloria continued, \u201cBut I needed you to know the truth. I\u2019m here if you want to get to know me.\u201d<\/p>\n

All the anger Lisa felt was gone after those words. As she was feeling tricked, she always wanted her biological mother to be a part of her life.<\/p>\n

She hugged to her mother, and then to her husband. This was enough answer for Gloria and David to understand.<\/p>\n
