A funeral service was being held for a woman who had recently passed away.
The church was full of relatives, old friends and neighbors who had come to pay their respects.
Her husband sat quietly in the front row, looking devastated.
After the service ended, the pallbearers carefully lifted the casket and began carrying it toward the exit.
Everything was solemn and respectful.
Until they turned a corner.
One of the pallbearers misjudged the distance and accidentally bumped the casket hard against a wall.
Everyone froze.
Then, from inside the casket, came a faint moan.
At first, nobody moved.
One pallbearer looked at another.
“Did you hear that?”
They quickly lowered the casket and opened it.
To everyone’s astonishment, the woman was still alive.
An ambulance was called, she recovered, and what had begun as a funeral turned into the strangest family celebration anyone could remember.
She went on to live for another ten years.
Eventually, however, she passed away again.
A second funeral was arranged.
Many of the same relatives attended, and once again the husband sat quietly through the service.
At the end, the pallbearers lifted the casket and started carrying it toward the exit.
As they approached the same narrow section of the church, the husband suddenly jumped to his feet and cried out,
“Watch out for the wall!”
