The 92nd Annual Academy Awards are just commencing, and Tom Hanks is visibly excited. The 63-year-old actor was seen on the red carpet performing a series of push-ups with a military sergeant while a group of soldiers cheered them on. Notably, he did all this while sporting a tuxedo.

Tom is no stranger to military-themed roles, having portrayed characters like Forrest Gump and a captain in the renowned movie Saving Private Ryan, which garnered five Academy Awards in 1999. His commendable performance in the film led to him being honored as an esteemed member of the U.S. Army Rangers Hall of Fame.

Although he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at tonight’s ceremony for his portrayal of Fred Rogers in A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, he did not win. The film, released in November 2019, revolves around an investigative journalist named Lloyd Vogel, played by Matthew Rhys, who is tasked with profiling Mr. Rogers.
