According to a video that made the rounds on Twitter the other day, a Friday town hall of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez’s in the Corona neighborhood of New York City turned to total chaos when a constituent called her a “piece of sh*t.”
During the incident, the heckler shouted “American citizens before migrants,” and protesters chanted “America First” as the crowd booed and the heckler was led away. Before being led away the heckler also, waving small American flags as he did so, yelled, “Where are you on the migrant issue? You’re a piece of s–t.”
Another heckler shouted, “We are on a verge of nuclear war with Russia” during the town hall, with another, an Iraq War veteran, yelling, “Immigrants have nothing to do with vets, it’s just an excuse” at leftists chanting about migrants.
Commenting on the Twitter video, people tore into AOC. One, for example, claimed that AOC hated the Trump tax cuts, saying, “AOC doesn’t like that Republicans passed a tax cut in 2017 that gave Americans the doubled standard deduction and child credit plus lower tax rates in the brackets. You must be rich because she labels that 2017 tax cut a tax cut for the rich.”
Continuing, that commenter said, “Imagine what your federal income taxes would be without that GOP tax cut. She neglects to mention that the federal government’s revenues have never been higher…revenue is currently 2% over historic highs. AOC wants to eliminate raising the debt limit which means she wants an unlimited credit card to spend taxpayers into even higher debt and inflation.”
Another noted that she dodged questions about the obscene amount already spent on funding the war in the Ukraine, saying, “So she lies, gets applause (the old Democrat talking point “GOP tax cuts for the wealthy”) and dodges questions about spending $100B on a war in a foreign land while the debt limit approaches.”
Similarly, another said, “She says she want to remove the debt but votes to send $100 billion to Ukraine! How does that remove debt?!” Another focused on AOC’s supporters at the town hall, saying, “Did these radicals really just call that man a Nazi for saying america first?!” Similarly, another commenter said, “When the left disrupts violently and destroys shit, throws things, and shuts down discussions, lib media celebrates. But when a patriot interrupts Ms. Precious, then that is a problem.”

AOC, for her part, ignored the hecklers in a later Twitter post about the town hall, saying, “Thank you to everyone who came to our Memorial Day weekend town hall! We had such a great crowd. ? It was awesome answering all your questions, discussing the debt limit negotiations, and more. See you next month!”
