Comedian Shane Gillis and SNL cast member Mikey Day tapped into their respective impressions of Donald Trump and Joe Biden for a hilarious sketch on the former president’s new sneaker line.

The sketch starts out with a down on his luck Gillis, who struggles to get anything done at work and especially on the basketball court.

This all changes when he finds a pair of Trump’s new sneaker line in his locker, however. Gillis’ character instantly becomes more confident after finding the shoes and starts to have success in every facet of life. He also starts to dress and talk like the former president.

While the shoes didn’t actually help his ability to do anything better, Gillis continues to turn things around while increasingly resembling Trump.

The sketch ends with a hilarious moment with day wearing Velco shoes called “Air Bidens.” He then proceeds to face plant immediately after catching the ball.

Gillis’ return to Saturday Night Live came nearly four years after he was fired from the long-running sketch comedy show over “racist jokes” directed towards Asian people. The Philadelphia-based comedian has gone on to have a wildly successful career without Saturday Night Live while the show’s ratings have suffered a massive dip over the last decade.

Gillis has hosted multiple Netflix specials, headlined a number of tours, opened for legends like Dave Chappelle and has become a regular on Joe Rogan’s podcast since his firing from SNL.
